Spending Christmas at Hostal Verdemar was quite a delightful experience, albeit a bit cramped with my travel companion and our backpacks. Thankfully, the central location made exploring Gijón easy, with plenty of cafes and bars just a stone's throw away. The early check-in was a lifesaver, allowing us to settle in and recharge with complimentary Wi-Fi before heading out to see the nearby Santa Catalina Park viewpoint. Just a heads up-the shower head was a bit rebellious, launching itself off the support, but no harm done! If you're seeking a clean spot to rest your head while diving into Gijón's rich culture, don't let the negative reviews deter you; this is a hidden gem in an ideal location!
